![]() My gripe is with the way Summers does this later on in the book, once we’ve already gained familiarity with so many of the important figures close to Marilyn. Of course, it is undoubtedly important for any author to provide context on the people they discuss in their works, and with Marilyn’s life being so complex and there being so many people involved, there are a lot of people to discuss. While it did do that, and while I did appreciate a lot of what it taught me, I found it quite tiresome and repetitive to read. ![]() This biography, I was told, was the best one there was for her, as it would document in the order of her life everything of note, including the years after her death. ![]() I sought this book out after adopting a curiosity for Marilyn and wanting to one day watch all of the feature films she acted in. ![]()

However, as Taiwanese society has changed, Confucianism has largely disappeared from children's education, and many educational experts (though not all) think Confucian education is old-fashioned and unhelpful for enhancing children's thinking. In earlier days, the main guiding principle in Taiwanese education was Confucian ethics, which arguably also provides a strong and culturally resonant context for stimulating thought about the nuances of moral issues. ![]() ![]() ![]() In the previous two books, our Misfits brought down a criminal circus enterprise run by the ominous B. ![]() There is Carter ( The Vanisher) Locke… Leila ( The Escape Artist) Vernon… Theo ( The Levitator) Stein-Meyer… and Ridley ( The Transformationist) Larsen… and who could forget Olly and Izzy, the ( Hilarious) Golden twins.
