![]() My gripe is with the way Summers does this later on in the book, once we’ve already gained familiarity with so many of the important figures close to Marilyn. Of course, it is undoubtedly important for any author to provide context on the people they discuss in their works, and with Marilyn’s life being so complex and there being so many people involved, there are a lot of people to discuss. While it did do that, and while I did appreciate a lot of what it taught me, I found it quite tiresome and repetitive to read. ![]() This biography, I was told, was the best one there was for her, as it would document in the order of her life everything of note, including the years after her death. ![]() I sought this book out after adopting a curiosity for Marilyn and wanting to one day watch all of the feature films she acted in. ![]()
